Mirror, O’ Mirror: My Guiding Light

Mirror, O’ Mirror, I sit in front of you for hours, and you reveal my powers. I look from every side and find you are my only guide…

You show me a star in the bizarre, you make me smile in my pile.

You show me beauty in my duty, you bring me joy without a toy.

You make me jump when I hump, you make me content when I resent.

You show me the way when I seem to sway, you make me stay when I want to get away.

You make me walk when I stalk, you make me talk when I block.

You give me a hand when I need to stand, you teach me to land when I get on the sand.

You make me wonder when I get struck by thunder, you teach me to surrender when I commit a blunder.

You hear my cry when I say goodbye, you make me fly when I hate to try.

You wipe my tears when I forget my swears, you teach me to steer through my fears.

You show me my depth when I have wept, you give me strength to exceed my length.

You show me the cause when I pause, you greet me with applause in my flaws.

You show me the vain that lies in my pain, you bring me rain to wash my stains.

You show me my skills when I am in my pills, you teach me the thrills that lie in the stills.

You show me how to sail when I am about to fail, you hold onto my tail when I hit the nail.

Mirror, O’ Mirror, I sit in front of you for hours and you shower me with flowers. You show me that I am clever, but you are a friend forever…
